Shirley Iris Boys

In the early hours of October 12, 2024, our dear mom, sister, and grandma, Shirley, passed away peacefully at the age of 91.

Shirley was predeceased by her husband Ray, aka “the best guy in the whole world.” They were the love of each other’s lives, and we celebrate that they have been reunited.

She is survived by her children, Murray, Lisa, and Lindy (Rob), as well as her grandsons Mike and Matt and their families.

The eldest of 12, she leaves behind her surviving siblings and their families: Joyce, Myrna (Nigel), Ron (Jean), Neil (Wanda), and Jim (Cyndi).

Our deepest heartfelt thanks go to Tara, Rick, and all of the wonderful caregivers at Golden Years Manor. We are eternally grateful for the exceptional care you provided her, as well as the compassion and dignity with which you treated her. Words cannot express how thankful we are for the peace of mind you gave us, knowing she was safe and secure in your care.

Thank you to Dr. Bouwer, who oversaw Mom’s medical care during her time at Golden Years Manor, and to the Home Care staff who tended to her weekly medical needs.

Mom was an RN for 40 years and was revered for her exceptional care and compassion for her patients.

We like to think Dad, donned in his patch-cap, was waiting for her with the Camry revved and ready to hit the road.

There will be no funeral service per Mom’s wishes. She will join Dad at Prairie Lane, Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery.

Together again.
